Create homemade artisan breads with professional looking results at home, without using bread lame scoring tools. The floured discs easily emboss stenciled designs onto the dough as it rises for its final time before being baked. Flour that's left on the surface of the raised or proofed dough creates the decorative crust as bread bakes.
The set includes 1 each wheat and sun designs. These are ideal for making decorative Irish soda bread, sourdough, French bread, whole grain, gluten-free, and other artisan bread recipes. For best results, grease the inside of a mixing bowl or proofing bowl (also known as a banneton bowl) and the design side of the embosser. Place the embosser insert inside the bottom of the bowl, design side facing up, and dust the bowl and embosser surfaces lightly with flour to prevent dough from sticking. Set dough on top of the embosser, cover bowl with a clean towel or cloth, and allow the dough to rise (also called proofing or proving). Once dough has risen, carefully turn the bowl over onto a prepared baking sheet to remove the dough. Remove the embosser from on top of the raised dough, then bake bread according to the recipe.
